Reader's Digest has been publishing funny true 100 word anecdotes about the work world for many years. I used to love reading those anecdotes they published under the heading "All in a Day's Work." According to Writer's Yearbook 2024, Reader's Digest is still welcoming submissions. Here is some of the info from Writer's Yearbook 2024. Established in 1922, Reader's Digest monthly magazine publishes curated. WHAT THEY WANT: While the editors don't accept traditional pitches, they do want jokes, gags, funny quotes, and humorous 100-word true stories. OTHER ADVICE: The editors say, "Reader's Digest unites its readers and their families like no other brand through the simplest of acts: sharing stories, laughs, and great advice." HOW TO SUBMIT: Writers can submit jokes gags, quotes, ) and short funny stories online at RD.com/ submit-joke or 100-word true stories at RD.com/100 -word-stories-submissions. PAYMENT: Pays $100 (or $1 per word) for the true stories and $25 for the jokes, gags, and funny quotes used in the magazine.
